We get it!  It can be intimidating to plan STEM activities to do at home so we’ve created a list of ideas for you.  Whether you want to use household items or purchase a kit, the following activities will help you and your daughter continue creating and experimenting at home together.

Our at-home STEM challenges are a great place to start if you are looking to try some STEM activities with your daughter at home.  We will introduce different STEM-based experiments and activities that any family can do at home using common household items.  Join your daughter while she explores, creates, and learns about STEM activities while having fun and building confidence.

Pinterest is a great resource but sometimes it can be overwhelming to sift through pin after pin.  We’ve done the work for you by narrowing down the choices to simple, fun, and engaging activities.  Check out our STEM Like a Girl Pinterest boards for great at-home activities, most of which use things you probably already have in your house.

Design Squad from PBS has great resources for parents that want to create at-home challenges similar to the ones we do in our STEM Like a Girl workshops.  Select any of the topics for a list of related activities, instructions, and notes to perform the activity at home or in a classroom setting.  And the best part is its all free!  Set up a challenge for your family or have your daughter invite friends over to host your own STEM Like a Girl party!

Yellow Scope, a Portland based company, wants to hook girls on science before they fall off the curve. Their kits are designed to engage both the scientific and creative minds of girls. The kits are chock-full of real science and there’s plenty of room for girls to draw their observations, doodle their ideas, and design their very own experiments.

Tinker Crate is a great monthly subscription box designed for kids ages 9-16.  Each box is delivered to your door with all the materials and instructions for a hands-on, STEM based project that will challenge and excite your daughter.  This is a great option if you don’t have the ability to put your own projects together or get to the store!
