Join us for STEM Like a Girl Innovation Day at OMSI this spring!
Are you looking to inspire girls and their families in STEM? Sign up to volunteer at our first Innovation Day at OMSI. Think of this as a STEM Like a Girl workshop only BIGGER! It will be a hands-on, immersive experience designed to ignite curiosity and confidence in STEM! Girls get the chance to step into the world of STEM through interactive workshops and engaging experiments inside Portland’s premier science destination for kids and adults!
We are looking for help with various tasks so whatever your interest or time commitment is, we have a role for you! Both male and female volunteers are welcome.
General Event Information
- When: Sunday, June 22nd from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (see volunteer timing below)
- Where: Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) located at 1945 SE Water Ave. Portland, OR 97214-3354

Description of Volunteer Roles
Volunteer assignments are broken into two shifts. You are welcome to sign up for either one or for the whole day. The morning shift is where we need the most help! You will also receive either a parking voucher or a Trimet voucher to cover your transportation.
Shift One from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM will include:
- Set up
- Registration
- Helping with Ice Breaker activities and first Design Challenge
- Speaking on the mentor panel (if applicable)
- Lunch
Shift Two from 1:00 – 5:00 PM will include:
- Exploring OMSI
- Helping with second Design Challenge
- Clean up
