Are you looking to inspire girls and their families in STEM? Sign up to volunteer at our next workshop by guiding the girls and their families through hands-on activities as well as speaking about your career and why you became interested in STEM activities. We are looking for help with various tasks so whatever your interest or time commitment is, we have a role for you! Both male and female volunteers are welcome.
Workshop Details
- When: Saturday, January 25th from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (see volunteer timing below)
- Where: Absci Biologics Building (18105 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98683)

Description of Volunteer Roles
- Set Up: Help set up tables/chairs, activity supplies, snacks, etc.
- Registration: Greet participants as they arrive and check them into the workshop.
- Activity Guide: Help guide and support the girls through the various activities during the workshop. This includes leading them through short Ice Breaker activities, providing guidance and help during Design Challenges, and encouraging them throughout the workshop.
- Design Challenge Leader: Facilitate Design Challenges during the workshop. Working from the provided curriculum, the Design Challenge leader will introduce the activity, provide background, and guide the participants through the project.
- Female STEM Mentors*: During the mentor panel, introduce yourself and share your STEM background with the participants and answer questions in an informal setting. We welcome mentors of all ages and stages of STEM careers.
- Clean Up: Help pack up supplies and clean up the room after the workshop is completed.
- Floater: Fill in where ever is needed during the workshop.
